Dr. Kumar holds a Ph.D. in Animal Biotechnology from the Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), Izatnagar, UP, where he achieved a First Class (Hons.) with an OGPA of 7.50 out of 10. His Masterās degree in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology was obtained from G.B.P.U.A & T, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand, with an OGPA of 8.2 out of 10. His undergraduate studies were completed at Orissa University of Agriculture & Technology, Bhubaneswar, where he earned his B.V. Sc. & A.H. degree with an OGPA of 8.5 out of 10, graduating with First Class honors.
